Marketing + Communications
Consultants
Over the past 15
years, Judy Bishop, of Vancouver's Bishop and Company, has been
one of a relatively small number of experts who have helped
fledgling B.C. technology companies translate bright ideas into
sales in North American and international markets.
She has virtually
invented a new management consultancy category - strategic marketing
for the emerging technology sector - centred on the marketing
of technology products.
Bishop also played
a fundamental role in her industry helping to mould scattered
small tech associations in the province into a single giant,
the B.C. Technology Industries Association in the early 1990s.
The organization, which has 470 member companies generating
$5.1 billion a year in revenue, is now the respected voice of
the tech industry.
And Bishop shares
her marketing insights through a column in Business in Vancouver
and talks to students, business and women's groups involved
in technology and finance.
She has served
on many boards in the tech sector and the community at large,
including the B.C. Advanced Systems Institute, and is currently
on the board of the Vancouver and Whistler 2010 Olympics Bid
Corp.
